The Stamford Tent & Equipment Company Inc. was founded in 1953. In the beginning the company supplied tents, tables, chairs and carnival equipment for carnivals, festivals, horseshows and the occasional backyard barbecue or wedding. Today, we are the largest combined tent and event services company in the tri-state area, and one of the largest in the United States.

In 1967, Donald Frost purchased an A to Z general rental franchise consisting of tools, machinery, and medical and party rental equipment. That same year he also acquired Stamford Tent from its original founder. Don felt that tents would be a good compliment to his general rental business. In 1971, after a brief illness, Donald Frost passed away. The management of the business was then taken over by his wife, Marian. The current president, Steve Frost, joined the business part-time in 1967 and as a full-time driver installer in 1972. Tim Frost, the current Vice President, joined the firm part-time in 1976 and as a full-time driver in 1980. Together, Steve and Tim have grown the company to its current position as the industry leader in the tri-state area. Over the years the company has made several major changes.

In 1984 the decision was made to eliminate tools from the product line so that the sole focus of the business was on high-end social and corporate special events. We were one of the first true "Party Rental Specialists". In 1986, we acquired our largest competitor, Deicke Tent & Equipment Co. In 1992 the working name of the company was changed to Stamford Tent and Party Rental. In 1995 we acquired the inventory of Maclean Rentals in Virginia. In 1999 we purchased the entire tent and party rental inventory of another local competitor, Darien Rental Service. In the spring of 2001 we moved to our present, state of the art facility.
 
Recently, in 2006, we formed a strategic partnership with the nation's
premier party rental supplier, Party Rental Ltd. This new alliance ensures that you get the best of both worlds – products from the leader in party supplies and equipment, and resources from the leader in tenting services. Providing superior customer service and delivering quality products remain our primary objectives.
